Welcome

About Me
Hi, I’m Sara Michelle, the founder of Humbly Nourished.
Humbly Nourished was created from a belief that feels both simple and deeply important: everyone deserves access to nourishing, supportive, and culturally respectful nutrition, regardless of background, income, or life circumstances.
I’m a Clinical Nutritionist and Doctoral Researcher, with a research focus on emotional eating and our relationship with food in socioeconomically disadvantaged children and families. My doctoral work explores how early life experiences, emotional regulation, food environments, and social inequality shape our relationship with food across the life course.
Alongside my research, I’m passionate about translating nutrition science into real life. Nutrition advice doesn’t exist in a vacuum, it is often shaped by time, money, stress, culture, family dynamics, and access to food. Humbly Nourished exists to bridge the gap between evidence-based nutrition and everyday living, without judgement, restriction, or unrealistic expectations.

Did you know? The science behind everyday foods
Did you know? Avocados are actually a berry, packed with healthy fats and nutrients. Carrots used to be purple before they turned orange through cultivation. Dark chocolate contains antioxidants that benefit your health.
